Dr Reuben Ayres DM FRCP graduated from Southampton University in 1982. He worked in junior hospital posts in Southampton, Portsmouth & Bournemouth before moving to the Birmingham Liver Unit to complete his DM thesis. He completed his higher specialist training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine in Birmingham before being appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist & Physician to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (now Royal Devon & Exeter Foundation Trust) in 1994. Dr Ayres maintains a busy clinical gastroenterological practice with an interest in both luminal bowel disease and hepatology. Dr Ayres is currently Service Director of the Exeter, North, Mid & East Devon Bowel Cancer Screening Service, part of the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme and a colon cancer screening colonoscopist for the service. He is also a member of the medical panel of the Behcet's Syndrome Society and treasurer of the Devon & Exeter Medical Society. | ||||
